Questions, answered.
Everything travelers ask us before booking, in plain words. If your question is not here, WhatsApp us and a real person replies.
How much does the Saint-Ouen flea market tour cost?
The three hour private tour costs 150€ for one guest, 100€ per person for groups of two to four, 90€ per person for groups of five or six, and a flat 700€ for groups of seven to ten. In US dollars that is roughly 100 to 165 dollars per person depending on your group size.
How much does the Paris Highlights tour cost?
The five hour Highlights day is fully tailored, so we quote it personally based on your route and group size. Write to us and you will have a clear price within 24 hours.
Are the tours really private?
Yes. Every tour is your party only. We never combine groups and never add strangers to your day.
When is the flea market open?
The market's main days are Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Weekends are the fullest; Mondays are quieter with some stands resting. Friday morning is the traditional trade day, when dealers buy from each other and serious collectors circle early.
Are the tours in English?
Yes, all tours are guided in English by a local who lives in Paris.
How do I book?
Send your dates through the booking form, by email to hello@privatedetour.com, or by WhatsApp at +33 7 59 55 85 97. We reply personally within 24 hours. North American guests: the time difference works in your favor, message us in your evening and the answer is usually waiting when you wake up.
Where do tours start?
We confirm your exact meeting point personally after booking. Flea market tours begin beside the market at Porte de Clignancourt, a direct metro ride from central Paris. Highlights tours can begin at your hotel or a landmark you choose.
Can you help me ship antiques home to the US or Canada?
Yes, and it is one of our favorite parts of the job. Most established dealers at Saint-Ouen work with trusted international shippers, and we help you arrange packing, insurance and paperwork on the spot. We wrote a full guide, Bringing Your Flea Market Finds Home, and built a free shipping cost estimator so you can plan before you shop.
What if it rains?
Much of the market is covered, and Paris is beautiful under a light rain, so tours generally run as planned. If the weather truly threatens your day, we talk it through together and find the best solution.
Is Private Detour a registered business?
Yes. Private Detour is a registered French business, SIRET 992 648 584 00017, based in Paris. Details are on our legal notice.
